The DELE and SIELE are the two main official Spanish exams, both backed by the Instituto Cervantes. They test the same language but work very differently. Pick based on what you need the certificate for.

When the DELE is the better choice

You need a result fast — flexible test dates and ~3-week results.
You're not sure of your exact level — the score-based system places you rather than pass/fail.
You only need certain skills certified — you can test individual skills.

Bottom line: Need Spanish nationality or a lifelong certificate? Take the DELE. Need flexibility, speed, or a placement score? The SIELE may fit better. Always check the exact requirement of whoever is asking for the certificate.
